The new work of art on Emscherkunstweg in Duisburg will be open to the public from May 1st! Julius von Bismarck and Marta Dyachenko have created a large-scale installation entitled »Neustadt« on the Alte Emscher near the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord.
23 building sculptures of houses that once actually existed in the Ruhr area tell of post-war architecture and urban development in the metropolitan region. Apartment towers, churches, schools or swimming pools on a scale of 1:25 awaken memories and at the same time ask: How do we want to live together? How does sustainable building work?
From May 1, 2021, the outdoor installation will be permanently accessible to everyone free of charge.
